When comparing the costs below with the cost of maintaining an in-house IT service, the benefits are immediately clear. When factors such as covering shift patterns, training, holiday and sick leave are taken in to account the Remote-IT service becomes even more compelling.As a comparison, here are some typical base salary ranges for permanent support staff:
- 1st Line/Help Desk Engineer: £15K to 25K
- 2nd Line/Desktop Support Engineer: £20k - £35K
- 3rd Line/Server Support Engineer: £30K - £50K
On top of these costs you have to add recruitment fees, pension, facilities, health care, overtime, sick/maternity pay and other costs... there is also the issue of staff training, motivation and retention. With our Support-IT package, all of the above variable costs and more are condensed into a single fixed monthly or yearly payment to reduce over heads and simplify budgets.
By comparison, our support service starts from under £15K p.a. and includes 3-tier support, 08.00 - 18.00 Monday to Friday cover, full reporting as well as change and release management. That is less than a helpdesk engineer.
